Built in surround amp?

So while cleaning my basement I came across this little unicorn. It's a d2audio 5.1 amp. I don't know too much about it, but supposably its 100x5 with a sub output.

Anyone know anything about these?
It came in a old alienware hangar 18 htpc I parted out long ago and forgot about.

There are a few connections on it, a 4 pin power, a audio conector, what looks like a goofy USB (gnd d- D+ NC) and some random 2 pin labeled aout gnd. Also a few unlabeled connectors.

Edit, found a small bit of info on it

Can't help but be skeptical of the strength of that amp. I don't think it's possible for the amount of power going to it to be 100x5.

Yeah, the single molex doesn't seem like its going to push enough power into it to get the full 100 watts per. Unless they meant 100 watts total (20x5)

but either way... I need to figure the connections on this thing. The signal cable looks like a standard front panel audio plug, but the key pin is in a different spot frown.gif

so there are 9 wires going to the amp for signal, then the usb (not sure what that would even be for)... unless this takes usb audio and converts it to surround... hmmm time to get some usb cables out and see what happens.

EDIT:

So I plugged the card into the usb on my motherboard and powered it on. While windows doesnt know what it is, the lights on it turned on smile.gif Progress!

They didnt sell many of them because they were stupid expensive for what they were. But most people didnt opt for the one with the built in amp, but I snagged one off ebay awhile back for pretty cheap
