There are many other sources available to see how Skylake stacks up against previous CPUs (testing in various games):

I'm sure you could come to your own conclusions without much of a problem using both the above sources and the chart in the OP.

I have two problems with this:

1) Isn't Project Cars still basically broken on AMD cards? Wouldn't the inclusion of that one game throw off all the results?

2) GameGPU.ru always has the 5960x at 3.0 as the fastest running CPU in every game benchmark they do, even for games that really only use about four cores and a higher clocked 4770K or even 4670K should be faster.

They do this after every new year, it is a recap of the previous year's gaming performance doh.gif

Yes, and it's not just Project Cars.. TPU's updated summary's are probably the most thorough and accurate, using latest drivers etc..

But at the end of the day, even though it sucks that certain games run like garbage on AMD, whether it's Gameworks, AMD's drivers, or the devs themselves, the games run fine on Nvidia hardware. So imo the tests are valid, although not entirely telling of the whole truth.

Worst year from AMD. I cant confirm 100% but from that list 3-4 games there dont have CFX support and games like Witcher CFX is broken.

Of course, but that's not the point. This thread isn't about those reviews. It's about GameGPU's test for optimal GPU and CPU solutions for 2015 gaming... without having a single CPU released in 2015 actually in their testing. They don't even have a hexacore Haswell-E to see how it holds up, and they've never had Ivy Bridge either. The lack of Devil's Canyon may be forgivable given it's still a quad-core Haswell, but since they seem intent on stock testing as well, it would make sense as well. Heck, it would make sense to have something in that lineup newer than 2013 with the sole exception of a $1000 octocore 5960X. No Ivy Bridge, no Broadwell, no Skylake (the only actual 2015 release), no Devil's Canyon, no overclocking... that CPU list is a bit difficult to take seriously as a revelation for optimal configs.
