Corsair M65 or better option?

Thread Starter
Hello there, I recently just purchased the Corsair M65 and the Corsair Strafe Cherry MX Silent. Basically both of my keyboard and my mouse went down the drain and so I went and replaced them with some Best Buy credit that I had.

I chose the Corsair keyboard since a friend of mine had it and said that it was a good one plus it is RGB led which is awesome. I was thinking that I only wanted to have to download 1 software to control settings and such so I went with a Corsair mouse as well. As the title says I went with the M65, I didn't like the Scimitar mouse because I don't use those side buttons, not enough accuracy in my thumb really. I saw the Sabre optical but was turned off. One thing I really love about the M65 is the size of it, feels very comfortable in the hand.

Is the M65 a good option to go with? I read that the M60 had some really terrible sensor inside of it so I wanted to make sure that this one isn't bad.

I use my mouse for MOBA's, MMORPG, RTS, and some photo editing. Mainly used for other day to day tasks since I don't get to game too much these days. Also must be from Best Buy since my credit is for there.

Any comments or advice greatly appreciated!

M65 has a pretty crappy sensor. The click latency is also pretty bad. It is way too heavy. All around a pretty crap mouse, although the build quality is nice.

Well that's good to know! I was hoping for something that was a similar size and preferably RGB - have any suggestions? Maybe the Death Adder Chroma? I know nothing of mice to be honest.

If you dont mind the weight the new (RGB) G502 is good. The G303 is also good if you can stand the shape. I can't remember if the RIVAL 300 is RGB but if it is that is a good one.

DA Chroma is not very durable, therefore doesn't last long for many people.

I will take a look at the G502 and the Rival 700. My options might be limited since I need to buy it from Best Buy since I have the credit there.

The Strafe keyboard good as well or should I consider a logitech to go with the mouse should I get that one?

Edit - Rival isn't sold by best buy unfortunately

I have a corsair M65 and I like it. I appreciate a bit of weight and I love having a sniper button. Thumb buttons are responsive and clicky, mechanical sounding.

Software leaves some to be desired, but it's easy to use.

Like someone said the m65 has a not great sensor, bad click latency, and is quite heavy. I used it for quite a while because I like the shape, but now use the Logitech g303. It is a bit narrower and the sides are a bit different, but I can grip it similarly. They are both claw/fingertip mice. Other than the original complaints the scroll wheel got loose after a while and would move side to side while moving after a while and it was quite annoying. I used it for over a year, but would not really recommend it or buy it again.

Strafe Keyboard is excellent, the rival 700 isn't out yet. I'd say go for the Rival 300, but the G502 is also a great choice. Both should be at best buy.
