Never made a build log before but thought it would better to just have one thread i can keep updating over the year.
2016 is going to be big year for me as i am in the process of replacing much of the hardware i own.
CPU: Intel Core I7 3820
Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Extreme
Graphics: 2x Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming
RAM: 4x4 GB Corsair Vengeance 1866 MHz
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 500 GB
HDD 1: WD Green WD30EZRX
HDD 2: WD Green WD40EZRX
HDD 3: WD Green WD60EZRX
Optical Drive 1: Pioneer DVR 216D (will be thrown out soon)
Optical Drive 2: LG CH12-NS30 (brand new as the old drive broke)
Cooling CPU: Noctua NH-D15S
Cooling fans: 5x Noctua NF-A14 FLX 140mm fans
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
Monitor PC: Asus PB278Q
Monitor TV: Panasonic TX-P42G30
Keyboard: Roccat Isku FX
PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 750 watt
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe
Mouse: Roccat Kone XTD Optical (brand new as the old mouse broke)
Mousepad: Roccat Sense
Audio: Onkyo TX-NR646 receiver
Audio: Harman Kardon HKTS 60 5,1 surround system
Audio: Sennheiser HD 598 headphones

Other stuff

Bitfenix Alchemy EPS extension cable
Bitfenix Hydra Pro fan controller
Phanteks 2m LED strip
DXRacer FORMULA Gaming Chair OH/FE08/NR

Spare parts laying around

Noctua NH-U12S CPU cooler and a Noctua NF-A15 150mm fan
A second pair of (really used) Sennheiser HD 598 headphones
CableMod E series kit in red

Got a DXRacer Formula gaming chair as my old chair was terrible
With NH-U12S

With NH-D15S

Replaced my old Roccat Kone XTD Laser with new optical version

I am getting a new monitor as my old Asus PB278Q has started to bother my eyes due to its PWM flicker.
So far i am set on the new Asus ROG swift PG279Q, unless something better comes along.

After Computex 2016 has ended and final word is out on Broadwell-E i plan to move to a X99 motherboard the new 6800K and 32 GB of DDR4 RAM.
After that the whole system will have changed so much that it will be re-named to Seravee.

There are no set plan for the videos cards yet as i am waiting to see how the new cards are going to be how much they are going to cost and how much money i have left.

All of the old parts will be reused in a second system and that system will be named Archer Arios as it uses almost all of the old parts but with a few new parts such as the case.
The case has not been picked for that yet as i am wating to see what is out after Computex 2016.

All in all there is a ton of stuff that is going to be happening here in 2016.

Found a great deal on a danish website that had the Roccat Ryos MK Pro mechanical keyboard with a 45% discount.
Its not in stock due to the discount but it should be back in stock with 2 weeks.

The Isku FX will probably end up as the keyboard for the second system using all the other old parts.

My ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro has been shipped so it should get in here in a day or two.

I just got a slight problem the USB cable my digital camera uses is broken as i a ran over it with my chair by mistake.
Bought a USB SD card reader untill i can get a new cable which costs $25 as its some sort of non standard cable.

After having tried the Ryos MK Pro for a few hours i have decided to send it back and get a refund as there is a number of things i dont like about it.

I am going to get a Roccat Ryos MK FX instead as i want red LED lights instead of blue lights as they hurts my eyes due to my low light sensitivity.
And i think i am going to try it with brown switches instead as the blacks would hurt my fingers after a few hours of gaming.

Really not the keyboard for me so that was a waste of money.

I am wating for some more CableMod stuff which should come in soon.

Got my maxkeyboard sample as well and i have been trying out the keys and i think i am going to go with red cherry mx switches.
Dont like the browns they feel really strange and the blues are way too loud, dont like the blacks either as they are too heavy.

All of my new CableMod stuff came in today, just to note as far as i am aware the SATA cables and LED light strips are samples as i dont think there is any place that sell them yet.

There are 4x sleeved SATA cables (from CableMod)
2x sets of transparent E series cable combs (from CableMod)
3x 60 cm red LED light strips with glue (from CableMod)
And my CableMod E series set in red which i have not gotten around to installing before now.
Last there is a molex to SATA power adaptor which i need since my fan controller use molex.

Really nice that the CableMod cables are split which means i only have to run two PCI-E cables instead of four.
Also got a molex to SATA adaptor which means i can run the fan controller without having to use a molex cable.

All in all there are now three cables less in my PC that i have to hide behind the motherboard tray.
I also choose to run the PCI-E power cable for the bottom GTX 970 out of the cut out in the PSU cover as that means less clutter behind the motherboard tray.

Installing the cable combs on the cables took a very long time but i think it was worth it as i hate the wires crossing each other.
My old SLI bride also decided it wanted to glitch out so i had to go get my motherboard box and get another SLI bride so now i am using a 3-way SLI bride as thats all i have.

I can say that the LED light strips are VERY bright so much in fact that the red cables look more orange then red when they are on.
And yes i know i could have done a better job with cable management if i had spent a little bit more time but it was getting tired and hungry so i just did what i did.

Last and yes the 24 pin cable is the stock one that comes with the EVGA SuperNova G2 i tried to remove it but it was stuck so i gave up and moved on.

These are samples from CableMod so i am not even sure you can buy them yet? at least not on caseking.de
They where shipped a few days ago but from where i dont know maybe from CableMod in the UK.

Pretty sure i am one of the first that has the CableMod SATA cables and LED light strips other then professional reviewes.

When they are samples no and others like Tiny Tom Logan from overclock3d has gotten samples as well.

And i did not get them for free as i have been working with CableMod on their compatibility back and forth a lot.
Besides that i have been doing a lot of free CableMod advertising every chance i got.

And i think they would like some feedback about the samples too so no its not free.
Only asked about the cable combs to begin with but it ended up with the SATA cables and LED light strips as well.

Oh thats Sexy

the Air Cooler actually looks like its not too big , are you still able to pull mem stick easily if need be?

for ease of repair, i went with the single tower model, in a pull config for now.

The RAM comes out without any problems, i actually have another Noctua NF-A15 fan i can add to the cooler.
The reason i have not added it is the RAM are so tall that the second fan will only cool about half of the fins on the cooler.

Going to add the second fan after i get the new motherboard and RAM since i will be getting low profile RAM the next time around.
I am going back to Kingston RAM which means either Fury or Savage RAM, really wish they would add more colors then just black to their DDR4 lineup as the old DDR3 Savage had red as a color option.

But i can live with black RAM if it comes to that.
Need to replace the 24 pin ATX cable and the Bitfenix Alchemy EPS extension cable as well.

Almost forgot i think i am going to drop the Roccat Ryos MK FX and get the CM Storm Trigger Z instead as it costs half as much as the Roccat

Dont need all those macros and all those colors options for each and every key.

After having thought about it i am going to drop getting a 6800K or a 6850K both because i have most of the money right now and dont feel like wating that long and that my old PC is acting really strange.

Think my RAM is dying or something because all of sudden the PC will BSOD on startup if the XMP profile is turned on in the BIOS and it has just started doing it out of the blue for no reason.
My PC will also start to lag after it has been on for a while and sometimes its so bad that the mouse will lag as well which means i cant hit on what i am trying to click on.

Its all really infuriating so i fed up and i am going to get a new motherboard CPU and RAM here in may.
After having looked at everything i have decided that i am going with an Gigabyte X99 G1 Gaming 32 GB (4x8 GB sticks) of Kingston HyperX Savage 2666 MHz RAM and a 5930K.

Cant wait around for the 6800K/6850K as the old PC will be dead by the time it comes out (either by itself or by my hands)
Not sure if i will have enough money for a new keyboard as well but i hope so as my old keyboard is not doing to well either.

Going to keep all of my old hardware for now but i might get a Samsung 950 Pro 512 GB M.2 SSD later this year.
Video cards and monitor will be some time in Q4.

Edit: looking into these new M.2 SSD´s they seem like the way forward compared to SATA SSD´s.
I have not been keeping up to date on SSD´s in a while so M.2 is all new to me.

Any downsides to an M.2 drive other then price and maybe that they get really hot?

Finally got around to get some of the new parts i have wanted for a long time and the first new part is the monitor.
Ended up going with the Asus PG279Q and so far i am really impressed by it.

Was really lucky and got one without any flaws and problems.

Took a new picture to show the current state of my setup.

The 6800K and the Asus X99 Strix has shown up on the website i like to order from but they are not in stock yet obviously.
Probably wont have enough money for both motherboard CPU and RAM here in June so i either have to buy one thing first and the rest in July or everything in July.

My new motherboard has arrived

The new CPU and RAM that i ordered should arrive some time next week or the week after as they where out of stock.
