Does it even matter. There are so many games out there. People will not pay $60. They will just not bother. Yes its really not fair for Single Player games to be pirated.

Actually not quite.

Piracy is a $75 billion $/year "industry" but, the PC subset of that is like less than a %...And with the new DRM it becomes less than a fraction of that %.

If anything, publishers might see a 5-10% increase in total, yearly revenue, if that...I'd bet it stays the same, actually.

So there won't really be any benefit because there won't really be any influx of capital.

It might remain the same but I have a feeling the revenue will shift. A lot of games get exposure with piracy.

There is simply no excuse since we have Steam and their 3-4 big sales each year

I will be interested to see how this turns out........if they can come up with some bulletproof protection, and if they do if it will indeed help pc gaming or possible even hurt it. I personally stopped downloading "cracked" games several years ago after reading a convincing article about how pirating was destroying pc gaming. I am glad I made that decision and I have enjoyed gaming more since then.

Either way we need better games (better coding, better gameplay) and less of a focus on developers just "churning" them out.

Piracy is not a valid/legal substitute to try out a game.

Not for the Pirates. Not talking about Demos. If a game has 4 Million pirates then the number of sales will be very high too. If another game gets only 100K pirates then you know it probably does not have as good sales.

Well that have nothing to do with pirates boosting sales. They hurt sales.

The old excuse that piracy is helping is old and have been busted countless times.
