[OC3D] Far Cry: Primal and Rise of the Tomb Raider will use Denuvo Anti-Tamper Tech - Page 9

The only think I don't like is the code left behind after uninstall. The rest I could care less about. I don't steal games.

I really don't care, publishers are going to push DRM whatever we like it or not.

Unless it can compromise my system in any kind of way or cause possible damage, I'll just play the game..

I bought RoTR + the season pass on GMG because it looks fun, I'm holding off for FC: Primal because Ubisoft never seems to release a game that's stable now these days.

It's been proven again and again and again and yet again that pirates are not lost sales as they wouldn't have bought the software in the first place. Those who have no money can't pay so they pirate. This has been proven with those thieves at the RIAA/MPAA who send out masses of letters to random people in the hope that even 1% will get scared and settle out of court they've made a killing. Now anyone wanting to claim that pirates are evil can go to the poorest of countries and tell those people who save up for years to buy a PC that they are evil as their poor, starving, destitute corporate overlord can't buy that third or fourth private jet, yacht, island or nation.

For example, Batman Arkham Disaster doesn't interest me and I won't even pirate it as I don't feel it's worth the time. Corporate liars will come out and make up random numbers that the game (if that is what you can call that bug fest) was pirated a million times and even include non-sales like me.

Keep saying that next time a publisher goes out of business and the authentication service needed to run your game doesn't even exist anymore.

If anything, publishers might see a 5-10% increase in total, yearly revenue, if that...I'd bet it stays the same, actually.

So there won't really be any benefit because there won't really be any influx of capital.
The influx of capital will most likely be offset by the cost of the DRM solution.

If the game is purely SP it MIGHT make sense to use denuvo. If it has a large multiplayer component it will likely NOT make sense to use denuvo. But that's all based on the hype the game generates and the largest SP games that generate hype are games like the Bethesda games which probably won't ever use that kind of protection due to massive modding communities on PC drawing in a lot of customers.

I don't see it as good or bad news, its neutral. I just want the game to run properly if its using denuvo.

Piracy happens, because:
1st: People have no access to that content. That was big issue up till 1-2-3 years ago.
2nd: People are poor and their countries are poor . 99% of the cases for piracy. If they don't have money to buy it, they will not buy it, no matter what DRM you put it.

Also, do not come up with the argument "If you do not have enough money to eat, maybe you shouldn't play games", as i am working, getting lots more than the average for the country, but i am still poor. Changing the mentality won't work, if we don't have any means to get it.

Dont try to reason with people under the "wage" issue. It mostly doesnt work here.

Since you are in the EU everyone assumes that you are well off already. While reality is way different and then people resort to piracy.

I'll add a 3rd:

I know a few who pirate from Ubisoft (and only Ubisoft) because they're openly hostile to PC gamers, in addition to releasing broken games one after another. Seriously after the unholy trinity that was Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Unity, and Far Cry 4, I am never, ever buying a Ubisoft game at full price again. Worst comes to worst I'll just hit up key resellers and buy their broken games for at least 50% off.
When will they learn. This isnt going to change or fix anything, People who were going to buy the game will still buy it. And people who would of pirated it arnt magically going to turn into some one who will buy it. They will just play something else.

I guess the only good thing to come out of harder to crack DRM is maybe they will stop blaming pirates for the reason they dont spend money on making good PC ports, But some how I doubt that and can basically guess they will continue to blame pirates for there badly made games in the future.
Code:
2018 PC release of Assasins creed millennium bug (100% pirate free with new Denvo 200) has bad sales because of poor performance requiring 4 way SLI of Titan XXX quantum Ti to maintain 20fps limiter"
EAbisoft releases statement: Our game doesn't run poorly, 20fps is a over optimistic frame rate to maintain, 10fps is perfectly fine since you have more time to enjoy the frame before it changes. We promise to do better next time if it wasn't for those pirates making us use 3 of your gpus to Hash sum your HDD and stream it back to us in real time to make sure those dirty pirates dont play the game.
