Hi The Stilt,

Is it possible to have a modified v3.40 bios for the FM2A88X-ITX+?

Thanks a lot in advance!

@The Stilt

Is this a modification of your doing or are manufacturers incorporating thin in newer BIOS rev. I'm using a ranger and can't say I have noticed any throttling like that. BIOS 1702

It's my own. ASUS now knows how to implement it in their bioses (if they wish), however I don't think they have done so. ASUS didn't know about the fix by the time Ranger 1702 was released, so it will definitely throttle on Steamroller APUs at default settings. Of course you can prevent that by using the old method, i.e blocking the PStates (P0 - P2 ==).

Ah OK , I'm going to freeze a 7870k tomorrow and just stumbled on this thread. Didn't want to be losing points if I don't have to. So just disabling all power setting in BIOS is enough? I wanna improve on this sub for the HWBot challenge.

No idea how the Ranger configures those CPU PStates, sorry.
Oh , I thought you meant to disable C-states, APM etc. in bios. It doesn't appear to me to be throttling since raising the CPU multi will result in a higher CPU score and the throttling would drop it to the same P-state regardless of what multi I set in BIOS, if that's what it's doing behind the scenes.. I guess I'd have to monitor it during the bench to know for sure

hmm just installed, but I still get the throttle to 3GHz with the GPUZ PCI-E test.. Plus I don't see the STILT signature in GPU-Z. Could you please double check?

Hi again!
I changed mobo from asrock ex4+ to asus a88xm-a which has digi+vrm
by the way it is more restricted to overclock than I thought
important settings are missing.. like cpu fixed voltage, gfx frequency, etc.
so, now i need your help again and wanna update bios
however, the bios in this mobo is 3001 which is latest one not like your 2402 one
so could you please updated it for a10 7860k godavari?
and i am wondering you can mod it like asus a88xm-plus for some crucial settings enabled
thanks in advance!

If that's the case, then the bios has not been programmed. I double checked the file and it is perfectly fine.
