Flight Simulator,one more time

Thread Starter
Hello all, I ask since Microsoft Flight Simulator X with acceleration pack is heavily dependant on cpu Mghz (speed) and primarily uses the first core of the cpu would selecting the Anniversary Edition Pentium cpu and appropriate motherboard work out? I have read if you move on to the company that took over Flight Simulator (Lockheed Martin) and want to use their upgraded flight simulator and the Prepar3D program the usefulness for a 4 core or better at 3.0+ is suggested along with 4+gb memory and a 4gb DDR5 gpu is recommended (which is odd since unaltered FSX does not make use of high end gpu's). I would like to clock this Pentium high (FS likes high clocks) and I seek feedback on how well it works out for FSX. Thanks

Fsx gets better fps than p3d. Fsx uses more than one core i would highly recommend an i5 or i7 tobrun fsx. With cfg tweaks and addons fps is not an issue assuming you have a decent cpu. I get 40 to 60fps on my setup at 4k. At times i get dips into the mid 30s but not comon. Either way the sim experience is better than it ever was for me.
