[KitGuru] Asus grabbed 40% of the gaming monitor market in 2015 - Page 2

I'm still rocking an Acer. I need an IPS monitor with a 30-144hz freesync range, or no go.
Still on my Benq and loving it! Asus is unlucky to only support ULMB/Nividia stuff, so they'll never get the money from me! I don't like having to rely on inofficial solutions, if there even are any. There's plenty cross vendor blur reduction techniques around (at least Eizo, Benq, got some, and some TV makers), so why only support ULMB?

Honestly, I cant justify spending 300-400 on a monitor. I can understand if I played something like competative CS:GO or really into BF4, but otherwise, singleplayer games or other online game I just dont see it.

I wonder if that figure includes Asus's popular 1080p60 monitors. Just eyeballing Newegg reviews, that appears to make up the bulk of monitors sold there.

I know that is one of Newegg's top shipping monitors - heck I even have 3 of those Asus 1080p60Hz monitors in our office that I bought in 2011 and still going strong.

27" is too big. I want high dpi. Why can't I have 2560x1600 on a 24"

Really? Here using 40" 4K and 27 is too small. Everything is too small now.

Not what you want to hear the wife say.

OT: Screen size is one of those things that is really subjective. A friend of mine swears by his 19", I know people that would call 27" too small. When it comes to the extra doodads, it just gets too personal to assert certain things.

Although I would love to sit my butt down in front of a 30" 4K, and compare that to my 27" 1440P.

Its all relative. 27" was once very big. People would see it in my room and be amazed how a PC monitor can be that big. Over the years I got too used 27. I basically learned to fully utilize it and wanted something bigger. Most people in my position have 2,3 or more screen. I decided to give 40" 4K a try after not being impressed with 34 1440p screens. I just love 40" 4K. You can stay very close and you can use it like a normal monitor or lean back and play games without things looking too small.
