Fact is a fx8 in games compete with more expensive locked i5 at a lower budget. Fact is AMD kills i5 anything multithreaded

Intel are good but AMD is also esp for their budget

Op save a ton of money and get the cheapest fx8 and oc

OP, try disabling CPU Thermal Throttle maybe? Also, your temps are really high for such voltage.

The problem is my computer stutter while play rome 2 total war. I will post Rome 2:Total War soon

Also, "Who cares?" You're on OCN, man. If that's your best response to a bunch of facts... 'Nuff said.

I am thinking about saving more and buying an I7 as most of the games I play are CPU intensive. And i play on 1050 resolution so it's less than full HD (maybe i will give a priority for buying a full hd 23 or 24 monitor )

Sounds like a good idea, since games with many units like rome 2 need strong single threaded performance.

source (Fact is, FX8 cores compete with (edit) current intels in many games, but not in this one. And not in many others.)

But yeah, making sure your CPU runs at the clock you set it to is also a consideration.

What you mean by "making sure your CPU runs at the clock you set it to is also a consideration"?

I did not follow the thread too much, and since you mentioned temps seeming high, I assumed you might or might not have seen downclocking while gaming. If there's no downclocking, I'd not worry about temps in the short term.

Just make sure you're not experiencing an additional issue, on top of running a CPU with not so strong single threaded performance. thumb.gif

edit: oh by the way, there's ways to overclock skylake intels (their latest) via baseclock, even if they're not unlocked. Just need a board with bios that supports baseclock overclocking. Of course going for one with unlocked multiplier is easier and there's no risk of a future bios update removing the functionality if intel ever were to request so.

Actually it was stable @4.6 while playing rome 2 total war. But in order to be stable in prim i needed to downclock it to 4.5 and now i am running 4.5 24/7 no issues. Some say the new overvlockable skylake I3 is a good competitor of the 6300 is it true?
