Uhh, ok ? I dont think i understand the twist of this statement .

I dunno man, i am not CEO of WD, also it seems a bit high for a n expectation claim for a HDD company to announce atm.

Cold boot : first program launch, very bad, very slow
Hot boot : next program launches, faster, good boy cache

HDD companies are busy trying to optimize write speed with their caching. They seem to have no answer for improving access to random files on the physical HDD part of their hybrid disks.

But yeah that sounds like a nice caching plan! Sadly Win10 doesn't have something like this by default, even if you close a program and reopen it. It's the same wait. Maybe need more RAM and enable it somewhere? I'm no expert on caching tech.

Well, write speeds, doh... (you get to write into the SSD buffer of the hybrid disk at like 500MB/s, and then that is moved by the hybrid disk firmware/processing components, onto the HDD part, without the user ever seeing any of that. Of course this doesn't increase random access read performance at all. And it stops giving awesome write speeds, when the SSD buffer is full.)

Then it's still noticeably slower than with SSD for opening apps. I don't know what they do, but both Win7 and Win10 make it easy, to notice whether or not the OS is on an SSD or HDD.

I'm not sure why you assume Windows added some super secret feature that boosts App opening time on HDDs, measured vs SSDs, without there ever being any benchmarks of that feature.

If windows did not add such a feature within the last 5 years, then the relevance of benchmarks from exactly 5 years ago, is nearly as good as today.

Heyheyhey, chill out bro there is no HDD conspiracy lol, this is a standart feature that works for all drive and that has been impleme ted from quite some time, this is no magic trick lol
