well if you like a franchise and see them killing it slowly...
look at BF2 a game that was build for teamwork and they transform into another cod with more equipment and skins zzz or F.E.A.R. a game that had awesome A.I. (probably still the best) with cool atmosphere look how they turn into, the recent star wars just horrible, dead space 3 lol, bioshock 3 poor gameplay, fallout (i think they transform this game into borderlands I m still waiting for mods to fix), ghost recon (i don't even know what to say..), tomb raider (simple gameplay, lack of puzzles, qtes and more qtes).... sleepysmiley03.gif so many franchises made for these new gamers driven by graphical fidelity

do you know whats funny?
they always do this bs marketing every --- ing time and people still buy them, they just don't seem to have the ability to learn.
no wonder they keep doing this..

i will leave this here

it wasnt a perfect game, not very balanced but it sure was fun and it pack good content ..

I lol'd

But agreed.

There is a serious lack of recent, decent games.

Nice rose-tinted glasses, buddy. BF2 was full of bugs, and most of them were never fixed.

And teamwork? C4 and helicopters - 'nuff said.

...Criterion started to build a process aimed at maximising efficiency through a highly-motivated team with enough big-picture context to make great decisions all the time. As well as taking inspiration from other AAA studios and Indie developers, the company is making use of science to motivate people through Autonomy, Mastery + Purpose.

Wow, did I just read a job ad? What a mouthful of buzzwords.

There are good games, there are bad games. Trying to over-analyze things (based on purely subjective criteria anyway) is just a waste of time.. Don't see the point of these sorts of studies or articles. Just play the damn game if you like, don't if you don't. Or go outside! Best graphics you'll ever get! Game-play is pretty deep and immersive too. I heard you only get one life though. tough game

As much as I generally enjoyed Witcher 3, have to say it was slapped pretty good with the AAA woes they're talking about here. I know that I played that whole game looking at my min-map. I also didn't discover anything since it was all marked on the main map for me.

Playing Dragon's Dogma right now. Maybe not as good looking, large, or polished, but, there are parts in that game that gave me the chills. Like a sense of adventure that I haven't felt in a game in a very long time. Though, footing it across the same spot for the 100th time gets old fast. Lack of good fast travel does lead to some very interesting encounters.

I have all the extra UI stuff turned off, including mini-map and the ability to just follow a way-point on the mini-map. To get around, I actually check the map relative to my position; games are a lot more fun if you need to actually look at your in-game surroundings and W3 is simply one of the best single player games I've ever played.

Edit: Dragon's Dogma looks pretty interesting though, I may need to check it out if it's as good as what you're saying.

As I said in another thread. As long as people are buying, developers will keep doing the same thing, and the industry will slowly go to hell until people stops buying.

Sigh Criterion... I so, so enjoyed Burnout 2 and 3 as well as Paradise. They have made boring games since then, so I don't think they're one to talk about "AAA" development anymore. Sold their soul to EA and all.

Huh? What?

Like recent in the last month or something...? Because last year was a pretty awesome year for games.
