The new SSD manufacturer's website should have free migration software available.

Yes, the manufacturers should include it. Whether or not it is good is debatable. I found the Kingston software terrible but that was years ago. The acronis version for Intel is perfect.

i have Acronis True Image i got on sale years ago works great.

for a free one i would say http://www.easeus.com/disk-copy/index.htm would work.

but yea i would think ssds manufacturers would have there own copy so might want to check into that.

If you clone WD HDD you can always download Acronis True Image here.
Also Macrium Reflect Free seems to be a good tool.

I also vote for Macrium Reflect Free. I use that to make backup images so far, haven't gone further, but it is pretty nice.

We usually include Acronis with our SSD Bundle kits.  Keep in mind we do not include it with our bare drives.  Otherwise we also suggest Marcium Reflect.

Tried this also with much success. Had to rebuild the MBR though, but that's more common with Cloning regardless of the application you use.
