[Hexus] Nvidia launches GeForce GT 710, says its 10x better than an IGP - Page 2

You know, I know people would be dissing these ultra-low end cards. But considering you can run this off the PCIe power only and be fully passive while not producing much heat, these make great, cheap cards for HTPCs with renders like MadVR.

I can't wait to see some 6700k/32GB 2133MHz DDR4/GT 710 GAMING BUILDS pop up on some of the more popular message boards.

Kuddos for intel for having a decent iGPU. But the GDDR5 (Zotac linked is GDDR3) 384 Core at 1200 (which all hit easily) gets closer to GTX650 (non Ti) performance.

Seems all the Zotac SKUs are with DDR3:

So it's most likely not the GDDR5 versions that you see from EVGA, Palit, and Gigabyte. Although I would like to see them test these lower end GPUs against Iris Pro graphics, that would be interesting.

10x better? Where exactly? In their dreams? biggrin.gif

To be fair, I don't think they were factoring in those who would be purchasing higher end CPUs. I would guess the comparison is towards the lower end, as this is the market it targets. Think FX 4xxx and Core i3 and lower price points.

Skylake i3 Has Intel 530 Graphics though:

Even the Skylake Pentium G4400 and up have Intel 510-530 Graphics.

I think this is just a case of companies like AMD and NVIDIA getting upset that their low end cards are slowly being phased out in favor of on-die graphics solutions.

my passively cooled gt 730 can run cs:go at 1080/30? better than I thought biggrin.gif

I just rely on steam streaming if I wanna play games...it's built for HTPC purposes, not to play games.

I would think 2GB is overkill for these low-end cards....and GDDR5 would push the price up a fair bit.

An oxymoron if I ever saw one.

According to Nvidia 2GB DDR3 64bit is better than 512MB/1GB 64bit GDDR5 biggrin.gif

i think they meant to say 4600 or older, the Iris Pro and the last igp are expensive.
