thats actually because they've been just rebranding dGPUs (go figure) on the low-end.
where as AMD, their APUs are severely lacking, 2M/4C processor with a half-way-there iGPU.
if they just up and did 3M/6C as the mainstream chips, then they could've gotten more potential buyers.
FM2+ is a wasted socket just because it lacks a decent CPU, anyone who wanted more than an FX-4 level performance would've gone with AM3+ or straight up intel.

I think the more likely option is that only people like us know that Iris Pro is pretty decent performance wise and most people are buying whatever the guy at geek squad says to get.
the ones on mobile SKUs yes, though the ones on desktop SKUs aren't such a hot sell because of limited inventory.
