Adaptec 71605 - RAID controller water cooled?

Hi guys,

I intend to switch to water cooling, but I d like to integrate also my RAID controller in the circuit, as it runs very hot.

It has a small radiator and without proper airflow(opened case for example while gaming) it s getting over 100 deg C. Under normal conditions, it stays between 70-80 deg C.

My question to you is, did anyone tried to mount a water block on an Adaptec 71605 controller?

Also, maybe you can advise regarding my planned future build:

i7-5820k - will be OCed, but only with the default MSI OC genie - EK supremacy Evo
MSI gtx970 gaming 4g - EK full block
Adaptec 71605 - I ll try to find a compatible water block
Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 360 with 3x Alpenfoehn 120mm , intake front, push only

Not sure about the pump&reservoir, maybe you can recommend one, so far I think I ll go with a EK D5 vario

Case: Corsair C70 - I ll have to mod it to install the Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 360 in the front

Do you think the 360 will be enough for my configuration, even at low speed fans? If not, it is possible to install also another 280mm rad on the top exhaust fans, but I would try to spare the extra cost for the additional rad, if not absolutely necessary

Many thanks, every feedback is very valuable to me

this looks good, pumps are alot of personal preferance I love ddc but im a minority.

A good universal block would be your best bet for the controller.

just keep reading around is the best way to figure out what you want to do, but your first loop will usually become scrap or disliked pretty quickly as you learn what YOU personally like and dislike. thumb.gif
