>>Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK Hands-On Review<< - Page 11

Oh it's an actual hybrid drive?

I would check out some reviews for similar drives to get a general feel of the OS.

I had a separate ssd for cache so I'm not sure how that changes the behavior since I've not had one.

Good idea. I took a quick snap with the best camera I had which is only a point and shoot from two years ago, but hopefully it will suffice. Upon reviewing the footage frame by frame, I'm not sure what to think. The pattern that I'm familiar with on my desktop is the same as the tablet, but the laptop stands out. I also took some footage in Reflex, though I'm not sure if it's of any use. Am I simply not used to how this monitor operates? I couldn't imagine buying and returning a laptop if it didn't have the pattern I liked. I really do like this laptop for virtually everything else except the touchpad which I can live with since I always have a mouse plugged in.

Any thoughts? I found that playing Reflex when I drop the 3D resolution down to 320x200, but I'm not sure if I like it better because of the lower latency (render time is down to 2ms from 8ms, but could I really tell?) or if the stretched out pixels are large enough to mask the effect.

Hey man quick question. Do you have any issues using the TouchPad? Maybe it's me using the new type of touch pad but I was testing out the xps 15 last night and every time I went to click on the bottom of the TouchPad it moved my mouse cursor because the bottom buttons still are apart of the track pad. Is there a way to disable the tracking on the buttons?

I'm definitely sold on the xps. I checked out the inspiron and whereas it's way thinner than my current laptop, it's just too bulky for me. Great specs for the price though but I'll stick with the xps. I ran prime95 in the Microsoft store... Lol and I couldn't even hear the fans over the mall noise! I think I'm gonna be pleasantly surprised! And I'll probably eventually get a thunderbolt box too to make up for the low vram and more powerful desktop gpu

The trackpad doesn't require you to use those buttons to actually click. Physical buttons are a thing of the past. tongue.gif

As for my Inspiron, no I've had little issue with it. Overall, and I've revise this too, the trackpad isn't bad, it's actually quite good. Just feels cheap is all.

I'd personally go with the one that I got off Amazon. It's worth the extra cash for the SSD, trust me. Hybrid drives are okay but a real Western Digital Black HDD would serve you better if you're looking for performance.

Can you run Heaven 4.0 again... This time do 8x AA and max tesselation?
I'm trying to compare it to my old GPU's in the past. I've read its as fast as a GTX580 desktop...lol

Looks like the same code discussed earlier, but I will give it a shot Monday morning just in case they repeat the deal.

I compared the 4K screen of 7559 and XPS15, i found XPS screen renders text much better.
7559 4K screen text looks jagged. Squint at the 'W', 7559 one is clearly the more jaggy, but it is strange how come 4K screens can differ so badly at text rendering? thumb.gif
