Why is it only Zowie that gives extra pairs of mousefeet? - Page 4

And I'm not asking for crazy stuff either, just add the ability to change the color of the light for the logo and mousewheel, bam, done.

I hate LED lit logos. I only like a LED lit scroll wheel if the LED is used for indicating CPI/profiles and can be turned off.

I can't stand being in a low light room while a blue LED shines into my eyes during a match. I ended up covering the LED on my Diamondback and my Microsoft mice. The other mice I use have the LED on the bottom.

Last time I measured they were ~0.45mm. I think 0.55mm would be decent and 0.65mm would be fine.

The feet on my WMO and IO are ~0.6mm. Both those mice don't appear to be bottoming out on my pad like Zowie mice do.

Or some friendly internetuntroll links it for you:

If you want to change the lift-off distance, please one of the following methods:

If you feel the lift-off distance is too low:
Please disconnect the mouse and hold down M4 + M1 + M2 and then connect the mouse through USB

If you feel the lift-off distance is too high:
Please disconnect the mouse, hold down M4 + M1 and then connect the mouse through USB

If you want to back to standard setting !
Please disconnect the mouse, hold down M5 + M1 and then connect the mouse through USB

If you are using ZOWIE SWIFT
Please disconnect the mouse, hold down M4 + M2 and then connect the mouse through USB

I have double stacked feet on my FK2. Whore down one of them in ~1 year.

On cloth.

I recon it's actually less likely to happen on smaller feet.

Wait you have actually needed extra mouse feet? I have a Death Adder that is 5 years old and the feet are still perfect. However I do use a slippery razer speed pad, not a gripey control pad.

Anyway maybe that helps, I use my razer stickers also lol, but I dont need new mouse feet even after 5 years.

Out of curiosity I just checked my cheap mazer wireless mouse that I use in my office. It is about 2 years old and its pads are perfect as well not even scratched.

I use both my death adder and my mazer about 6 hours a day at least, for years and the feet haven't worn. I don't own a Zowie mouse, but I am going to lean with the first reply it must have horrid pads seeing how people in this thread are talking about them wearing out after a year.

Also have to LOL at this,

Seriously man never get into MMOs, I stopped for the very reason of time consumption I would spend more than 300 hours playing in a month! About a good 200 of those hours were fast paced PvP so I am not talking being easy on the mouse either.

Dunno, these OMB feet don't seem superb quality; pretty run-of-the-mill really. And they have been to hell and back in terms of mousepad milage. Surely if used-up mouse feet are a common occurrence someone can snap a pic or something.

Hey, I'm not saying it's impossible, just that I've honestly never seen feet be worn into unusability. Google images doesn't deliver either. So... if anyone has 'em pics would be great. Worn-down stuff is actually fascinating.

Plus no software that I only use for 3 things anyhow, changing color, dpi, and polling rate. Plus, my Deathadder 3.5 G had this weird issue where it would not default to 400 dpi, I had to have Synapse running. The memory that stores my settings either died or they just blatantly removed that feature.

So, yea, I definitely think Zowie deserves the praise they get. If they allowed the LOD, Polling Rate, and RGB lighting to be changed it'd be the perfect mouse imo.

IIRC, The DA 3.5G doesn't have a 400DPI setting, it's 450/900/1800/3500 only. To get 400 it needs to be interpolated, hence Synapse.

I think this is the legacy driver, before they used Synapse.
(It may not work for the Black Edition).

Not sure about other settings, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's Synapse's fault.

Heh

Funny thing, it were the grey/white Zowie skates on top of the blacks (I use the high LOD setting). They slowly become a bit transparant at the sides, the black one becomes slightly visible and eventually... a hole appears tongue.gif

The skates under it are still perfectly intact though.

Extra mousefeet are nice to have. Never really worn any down on a mouse before though. It's just knowing I have backups just in case which makes it nice tongue.gif

Zowie seems to be on point. After returning my Mamba TE for the Zowie EC2-A...I've been in heaven. This mouse feels perfect in my 20cm hands in a claw/fingertip grip. Palming it is impossible with bigger hands but I've never palmed miced anyways. The only issues I've heard about is click delay and it's certainly something I haven't noticed. But compared to the Mamba, the sensor feels way more responsive and accurate. The Mamba felt completely goofy in comparison, especially for making small movements.
