no they're pretty much amd biased based on how they bash kepler in their benches.
they don't help Fury X in comparison with 980Ti,so yeah,BIASED.
Some time ago I took a 980Ti review from Guru3D,they ran tests 10 games, I only took 1440p results since this is the resolution I'm using. In 10 tests out of 10 980Ti 6G Gaming was faster than Fury X, the difference ranging from several percent up to almost thirty. The general pattern emerging was that the newer the game, the bigger the gap. Three 2015 AAA titles showed respectively 25,27 and 30% difference. The average difference was 17% in all the 10 titles. And like I said, this was only 1440p, 1080p results showed the difference was even bigger. So yeah - Guru3D is BIASED.
Now in Rise of the Tomb Raider two other sources seem to show a chasm between 980Ti and Fury X much like PClab, so another two are biased.

So according to this the 970 is faster than the 390 when you're outside running around doing nothing basically, and the 390 is faster when the effects get heavy and intense. For the sake of "fairness" and "repeatability" a lot of benchmark runs are usually composed of characters running around outside somewhere doing nothing.

Where would you rather have the gpu grunt?

Honest question... Will this game be playable on my sig rig? AMD 8350 @ 4.4ghz, 16GB DDR3, GTX 580 1.5GB @ 900Mhz? I bought and played the first TR 2013 on this machine, and it played brilliantly. I want to play this on PC also as part of the experience, but i'm worried this GPU can't handle it.

I will be @ 1080p also, 60Hz.

yes,I'm pretty sure every 15/16 title will play nicely if you drop the quality settings to medium. I heard this games is heavy on the CPU, so if it doesn't utilize multiple threads you might see fps drops though.

I think it's the other way around. More GPU intensive.

Well,it is GPU intenvise of course, when you're running very high with aa gameworks and stuff. But digital foundry said it maxed all 4 threads at 100% in their tests.
