It can't just be carried over. You have to properly implement the technique and test it thoroughly during or after optimization. Many games have used Async on the console, not just this one.

thats what you say biggrin.gif but consoles are x86 now and dev kits are also x86 there is nearly zero work to port xbox one game to pc except controler/mouse/keyboard rebinding

maybe there is work to do on NVIDIA card as they are not GCN as console APU

Not as simple as that if you want to do a good job of it. The code still has to go through optimization to meet the various requirements of several different system configurations and hardware architectures. For console, you are just programming for one single architecture.

Files found in the game directory does not prove with absolute certainty that the DX12 implimentation was held back to prevent AMD because the DX12 coding may not have been through optimization.

It is frustrating seeing the peasants (just a joke) use the advanced features while we get the same old thing.. Async might have a lot to do with why the Xbone is holding up so well against the PC version. If Async is a pita to implement then you can't blame them for not doing it with AMD's marketshare, what's the point?

When Pascal drops hopefully we'll have more and more PC ports using it, assuming Pascal isn't just a 16nm Maxwell..

Just going off the beyond3d forums. What benchmarks are using Asynchronous Compute? If you're referring to AOTS, it hardly uses Async at all. I don't know why people think AMD will be better at DX12, that's way to general of a statement, both will be better suited to different aspects of it. Nvidia cut out most of the hardware scheduling in Maxwell, i don't see how it could come close to GCN as far as Async goes, which is probably the most exciting aspect of DX12/Vulkan.

You can see how in other games 750 Ti + i3 can keep up with PS4 but here they get destroyed by Xbox One. Full implemented ASync would kill Nvidia in performance. Would bring 290X to GTX980 Ti levels. This will not happen in PC because Nvidia will not allow it. They will just use their big bank to stop partner with dev and not implement ASync.

in fact both ps4 and xbox doing much better than they should
just expect what singlethreaded performance that 1.6ghz cpu can have...

i can understand that PC market is dying and noone wants to bring DX12 fast as this optimalization will damage all players on market... and they hoping for 4K and Virtual reality to get their business back
