4K 30fps is normally playable without any issues
sure 60fps is better but you need SLI/crossfire in most cases to reach 60fps

I tried that in The Witcher 3, seemed nice with all the eye candy but I had to stop and lie down after an hour, I gave me a headache and nausea.

you really get headache from low fps? biggrin.gif thats something new for me
like there is 100m console players which play in 30fps every day and there are no horror stories about suicides from 30fps headache

Has your brilliant research into comparing 144 fps 1080p and 4K 30 fps included the option there are other people than you or did you just dismiss that point as irrelevant ?
irrelevant wink.gif for most 4K@30fps better than 1080p@144hz except FPS (which can run 4K@60fps so not a big deal)

Just waiting for the Crimson driver update. If I decide to get Tomb Raider I'll be sure to benchmark it.

Plenty of people buy the 980 Ti for 1080p performance because of 144Hz. Even a single 980Ti can't achieve 144fps in a lot of the newer AAA titles....

That's because when you're on a console, you also typically play on a TV. Thus you play much farther away from your screen.

I'll add that console pads are designed to work with 30 fps and people sitting farther away, they're slow but make the movement look like more smooth. this kinda works on the mouse but you'd have to go very low on the dpi and sensitivity, thus nulling one of the most important points of having a gaming pc vs a console, that is better and more responsive steering.
But on a PC? I'm supposed to play 30 fps on a PC ? Onebit's gotta be either joking or not well. Hell, after jumping on 120Hz with ULMB I can't even take 60hz with vsync anymore.

Me like to think AAA games are not played 144Hz. Does it matter if FO4 or Witcher 3 runs @ 144Hz vs 60Hz? I dont think it does.
