[EuroGamer] Face-Off: Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC - Page 48

Afterburner shows core wise cpu usage as well. The average CPU usage is a rather new addition and it correctly shows that AMD's problem is not cpu overhead on the whole but not being multithreaded and thus single core utilization. The guru3d results with Fury is quite amusing where the single core(others disabled) does the best followed by eight, four and finally two cores. biggrin.gif

That 780Ti is at 1150Mhz which is easily +15% over the stock and is still 5-10% behind 980.

double click on process then select threads from top menu smile.gif now you see proper cpu load by each thread
if you have 4 core then bottleneck is when 1 thread reach 25%
if you have 8 cores then bottleneck is when 1 thread reach 12.5%

I didn't used task manager but process explorer and if you really think that TR 4K is CPU bound I can't do anythining for you sorry.

edit : I use a 780Ti and there's no CPU problem at all. Another DX11 golden drivers from AMD ?

Even in that video the video description he clearly says he used Asus GTX 780 TI Matrix Platinum. Looking at different reviews it appears to be around 10% faster than a stock 780 Ti.

cpu usage is 18% but as you can see there is 100% on 1 core (process hacker shows over 12% load from single thread which can be translated to 100% load of 1 core)

so if afterburner is reading it properly the game seems to be using all 8 threads (4790k). Not all threads have the same amount of usage but it averages about 50% (with threads 1-4 having a slightly higher usage) on the high side and 20% on the low side. Rain seems to be the biggest factor since I have been paying attention (only the last few hours).

nope afterburner usage is not correct biggrin.gif
if you want to see bottleneck issues you need per thread usage which can be seen only using process hacker
edit: fixed image size

also you have nvidia so not that big issue for you wink.gif

I got it figured out, on the system information screen you check the box marked "show one graph per cpu".... somehow I missed that the first time.

The graphs matched the graphs in afterburner, not sure what the difference between green and red is. This was just running around in a snowy area, I'm not at a point in the game were I can make some action happen.

CPU usage says 2% because I had to alt tab to get the screen shot, game crashes once I alt tab.

nope this is still useless you need per thread usage..
this image you send is per core and its useless as windows scheduler hide bottleneck by switching heavy thread between cores

afterburner, windows task manager, process explorer all of these showing only per core usage which say nothing about workload

That screen shot is process hacker, isn't that what you said to use?
