PS: Nvidias drivers are out for this title:

Also, the hypocritical aspect we were referring to is from this post:

Assirra's post says "Doesn't even got the game ready driver", that implies performance will increase with the game ready driver, does it not?

Klocek001 says: "yes that's totally freakin naive and unprofessional. what's worse is that we already have ppl spreading this on OCN..."

Your own quote: "I find it to be a bit of a joke that someone would post a review/benchmark and complain about stutters when not using the vendor provided, game specific drivers."

Again, a quote from yourself: "I really hope AMD doesnt make the same mistake with the front end of Polaris. "

So on one hand you all disregard that "review" because they aren't using Nvidia's game ready drivers, while at the same time acting like AMD's results are set in stone.. That's called context. thumb.gif

I like how you omitted my whole quote. Maybe we can call that artificial context, manufactured to support your argument. Nobody said the results were in stone, read my full quote.

New and hopefully improved uArch, without limiting ROPs, could be interesting. Fury is obviously not able to leverage the extra shaders well in this title at all.

Maybe drivers will help, not making an excuse for AMD, but they could definitely level the field a bit more than we see now.

To clarify further one of my quotes:
There has been a lot of speculation as to why Fury/X does not perform much better than 390X in certain scenarios, one of those theories is the reduced Ratio of ROPs to shaders. I was referencing this when referring to Polaris, not just the specific performance by AMD in just this game.

Maybe you noticed i didn't quote you when i made the post you responded to, i was talking to the others more than yourself. You chose to quote me and respond, you also talked about removing pants with Klocek, while ganging up on the other guy, implying that you agreed with what he was saying. So yeah, i call that being a hypocrite.

The only reason to bring up Polaris and the Achilles heal of AMD's current architecture in this thread, would be to say that you think Nvidia is going to beat AMD in this title. That remains to be seen. All i know is if at launch a 960 is competing with a far superior AMD GPU, i will not give these devs a cent.

I wasn't calling it hypocrisy, I just pointed out he made assumptions the game stutters on nvidia cards using the new driver, while the very next sentence said they didn't use the new driver (although it's out,so a damn good reporting from this site). that's not hypocrisy, that's just surprisingly poor reading skills, something very uncommon for people who only want to stir up confusion and turn the facts around.

I apologize if my referncing of Polaris was slightly off topic.

The exchange between myself, Klocek, and Themisseble occured very quickly. It is hypocritical to say wait for AMD driver while the review that was linked did not even use the current Nvidia driver, but was claiming stutters on the new driver.

Not testing on Game Ready drivers when they are available is silly, regardless of the state of your competitors driver. I'm sure we can agree on that

Let me get this straight: So I am a hypocrite for thinking the guy should have benched with appropriate Nvidia drivers, while simultaneously saying maybe drivers will help AMD. However, AMD does not have drivers available for this game specifically, while Nvidia does. Advocating use of appropriate drivers isn't quite the same thing as stating that the results may change when AMD produces a new driver, as the AMD driver used is really the only option at this time. Nor are the two points mutually exclusive.

I definitely think the benchmarks should be re-run when AMD drivers are ready for the title, but what I said previously was not hypocrisy.

Again, i wasn't referring to you when i made the post, or i would've quoted you. I lumped you in with the others after you responded to me with the word we in it, like you were agreeing with them. It's a misunderstanding obviously, i'm not even that serious, things in text can come off stronger than we mean. tongue.gif

As for the bold part, i completely agree with you, which is why i said both arguments were hypocritical in my original post.

All good, sir.

Really just trying to clarify. A lot was thrown around in a short time so I was actually double checking that what was said even made sense, in context.

Anyhow, AMD needs a driver for this game, hopefully it helps. Can't hurt with the 960 making AMD look so bad currently, as you said.

Yeah, damn drivers.. I don't know how PC gaming turned into a race of AMD vs Nvidia in drivers, it must cost IHV's a fortune to have to release drivers for every new broken title that's released, you'd think it would be down to developers to actually develop games.. Regardless of whether it's AMD or Nvidia (the latter being far less likely) who have performance problems because of mediocre devs, just boils my blood. PC is already smaller than the console base as it is, now it's segregated even more based on a single component of our systems. The 980 Ti is the best consumer chip on the market, so we'd expect it to be above the rest, but seeing something mediocre that shouldn't be in the same conversation as something else, is unacceptable.. /rant over. tongue.gif

We'll see how things are at launch.

OT:
Well we can hope that DX12 puts the onus on the developers to get stuff sorted instead of Green vs Red. However, with some of these developers recent history that may end up being worse, with who knows how long to wait before patches are implemented. That is of course assuming you are on Win10 and a DX12 game launches anytime soon.
