Edit: I think we just have a case of AMD driver overhead and GCN architectural issues. GCN really needs a low level API to feed it's deep and vastly complex pipeline.

I can also say with fair comparison that half way through Dragon age Inquisition the Avalanche was built and going from AMD to NVIDIA fine you get some increase... But going from a yamakasi catleap with AMD in trifire to a Acer XB270HU with GSYNC and playing the second half of the game... Well watch the very end of the 40 year old virgin and that is what it has been like to game on this computer. thumb.gif I am not for AMD or NVIDIA because I truly have always believed AMD has had the stronger cards and the ****tier drivers, if the driver teams reversed AMD would be tops. BUT I AM FOR GSYNC AND FREESYNC.. Omg buy it!

Are you trying to tell me because Mantle is getting more fps @ 1080p that Mantle is better than DX11? First that video is old. That was before Mantle was dropped. They do not update Mantle anymore. Secondly I play @ 4K and before that I played 1440p with 150% resolution scaling. There was one big difference. DX11 I was getting 80-100 fps while Mantle was unplayable.

I guess I'd have to test Mantle again some day. I remember DA:I. DX11 and Mantle were about the same smoothness. As for BF Hardline, Mantle was smooth with Crossfire whilst DX11 stuttered once every few second. Not sure why that was....

The fact that 2GB was not enough for 1080p for Mantle in BF4 was fail already for me. For Mantle in BF4 you need 3GB for 1080p and 4GB for 1440p. DX11 can go 5K with 4GB.

Yeah, I remember many people talking about the higher VRAM usage. Such a shame. Hopefully we don't see this kind of thing with Direct-X 12.
