Thread Starter
Hi guys. now I'm on my current build

AMD FX 8320e
Gigabyte 990FXA UD3
Ati HD6850
500gb WD HD
500watts Strike X modular
4pcs 120mm fans w/LED

I'm currenly at 4.0ghz 1.30v
I wonder if I can raise it higher with my PSU on 500watts?
Kinda nervous that it might screw up.

And another thing

My motherboard's BIOS is currently at F3. I just saw an update at gigabyte's website. the BIOS in there is already at F10 ishh.
Do I need to update the BIOS? what difference does it make when its updated?

and can I jump from F3 update to F10 update without going thru the in between updates?

Some PSUs use noisy 120mm ball bearing fans.
Companies are getting wise to my advice, though. Rosewill released a PSU with a 140 or 135mm FDB fan that's noisy according to the Anandtech review (as I recall).

But, in general, the larger fans are preferable.

You can install bios from any version as it actually completely replaces previous version. Newer bios usually give more compatibility or stability. I like to run latest bios.

I overclock a fx8 to 4.6 on a 430m psu so should be fine with 500
