Problems with the MSI P67A-C45 motherboard (with i7 2600k) - overclock, underclock, anything related to BIOS

I have the following motherboard: MSI SKT 1155 P67a-c45 (B3) ATX Mother Board, paired with an i7 2600k

The problem is I cannot overclock or change voltage at all. Even as little as a 100Mhz manual OC causes my PC to hang and not boot up. It just experiences a black screen while all the fans/lights are running – no BIOS screen. Even when I try the MSI board’s auto overclock utility in BIOS and with software overclock, this happens (software overclock works until I try to reboot it). I have to press the reset CMOS button every time to get my PC to boot to default specs.

Even when I try to manually change the voltage to stock volts (1.15v to 1.2v) and keep the speed at the stock 3.4Ghz (no overclock), the same thing happens – black screen, no boot/no BIOS. Interestingly, when I download “speedfan” and try to set fan settings that affect BIOS settings, my PC gets the same problem.
My PSU is fine – rails are within specs and I’ve tried this with a Corsair and Zalman PSU – same problem. RAM is 16GB of DDR3 1600MHz. Temps are fine too – doesn’t go over 55-60’C in Prime 95 with my CM N520.

Is there something wrong with my motherboard? Bad BIOS version? Is this model glitchy when it comes to overclocking?
