Just increasing the core clock??

Thread Starter
I am a complete noon at overclocking cpus. I have overclocked gpu a lot and find it easier with software. I have the following system..

Intel I7 920
Msu x58 pro e
16gb 1333 ram

I have gone into bios and changed the bclk to 143 from 133 ran 3dmark and got a small improvement..

My q is.. can I just adjust the core clock and get result???

I would bump the multiplier and voltage.

You need to adjust more than just core clock and core voltage. Increase black with qpi/vtt voltage. Probably north bridge voltage as well. You should look at the overclocking guides for your CPU.
