Advice on a new monitor

Thread Starter
Hey everyone.

I'm looking to buy a new monitor and have been looking at the Predator X34, but its a bit on the pricey side.

I don't mind throwing that down if I need to for the specs it has, but if there is a cheaper option with the same specs I'm all for that.

Looking for curved display with 21:9 aspect ratio.

At least 60 hz refresh rate.

G-sync tech.

Speakers would be nice to have included if I'm dishing out some money.

IPS or VA for panel type.

And definitely needs at least one HDMI port so I can hook a PS4 or my old PS3 to it as well.

If you guys know any other good options please point me in the right direction.

Does it need to be 3440x1440? Another option is the Predator Z35. 200Hz g-sync + ulmb, VA panel.

It's only about ~$200 cheaper than the X34 though.

Wait for the new ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q. It may cause occasional price drops for the X34. I think it has ULMB unlike the X34 too, although 100 Hz ULMB isn't great anyway.

Or if you're really patient you can wait for the upcoming 35" 3440 x 1440 2000R curved 144 Hz VA monitors with G-SYNC and ULMB, but these will require next gen GPUs at least to get the most out of it.
