4k@60hz in sli does not work

Thread Starter
any one running 4k@60hz in sli mode , strange that i have gtx 970 in tri sli , on single gpu i get 4k@60hz but when i enable sli mode it defaults back to 30hz , and in no way i can change that unless i turn off 4k.

i am on the latest nvidia drivers , whats with the hdmi 2.0 thing , why does a single card run 4k@60hz and in sli they dont .

need some help pls .

i have a 4k tv not a montior , just wanted to know if 4k@60hz in sli works.

confused as what to do .

Did you try creating 4k60Hz as a custom resolution through the "Customize" button in the Nvidia Control Panel?
Curious to see if that would work, I would imagine it does.

no 4k @60hz does not work in custom resoloution , see the tv supports 4.2.0 chroma sampling in 4k@60hz but i think the same does not work in sli , thats what i think .

if i enable sli it does not go to 60hz and stays at 30hz

Using HDMI? That might be the issue. I run 4K at 60Hz with SLI, but over display port.

Well my tv does not have a display port , so i am forced to use hdmi , with out sli i get 4k@60hz but if i enable it then i dont get that option .

some one said some thing about chroma sampling being 4.4.4 in sli and it does not do 4.2.2 in sli its fixed at 4.4.4 , then again the hdmi 2.0 cable thing ...i am using a good hdmi cable with ethernet written on it i think its 1.4 hdmi .

does hdmi 2.0 cable have 2.0 written on it .

I've read that DP to HDMI 2.0 converter "can" solve that

Makes me wonder if there's still a pixel clock limit on SLI? Used to be a bottleneck on DVI when OCing monitors first came about. You could OC to 120Hz with a single card, but only 102 or something with SLI. I ran into that with 680SLI, but thought it wasn't an issue any more.

Google "Nvidia Pixel Clock SLI HDMI", here's the patcher
