LSI 9260 8i - not recognizing drives

Hey,

I bought myself a used LSI 9260-8i after the Adaptec I had was too... bright.

I have this running on my HTPC which is mounted behind my telly and the led's on the Adaptec (5805zq) just did not do. However, now to the main problem. I want to run the card with 3x WD30EFRX (3TB WD Red), but the controller is not recognizing any drives.

I have tested them with the WD Red, but also with Seagate 2TB drives, 250GB SDD's and a 200GB WD Black, but none got recognized. I have the up-to-date firmware on the controller, can get into the webbios, but no luck with the drives.

Other Mini-SAS to SATA cable has been ordered to confirm that mine is working.

Had the same issue with the Adaptec, which was the death blow due to LEDs as well.

Any tips other than waiting for the other cable?

Are you sure they were faulty, or were they the reverse breakout type? From what I understand it apparently matters...and they look more or less identical.

Glad you're up and running though!

Yeah - pretty sure it were the cables as I was able to get 2 identical ones from my neighbour - same make and model - and they worked from the get-go.
