Should I bother enabling Samsung Magician RAPID and OP on a fresh Win 10 install on an 850 Pro?

I'm especially confused about Overprovisioning from Samsung Magician software. The rest of my system is 3570K on Z77 chipset and 8 GB RAM.

No. RAPID is a gimmick and does not improve real world usage. As for OP, it's not needed as long as you leave a few gig free for the SSD to have some breathing space. thumb.gif

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. smile.gif Would you mind telling how many exactly are a few GB free - keep in mind the SSD is 256 GB. Also, does that mean I'm better off not installing Magician at all on Win 10? I already checked if the firmware is the latest - it was out of the box.

Samsung OP often recommends between 8 to 10% of the SSD size. 8% is about 20GB. You don't "need" to install the Samsung software and it will take up CPU time and RAM usage.

Thought so as well. Thanks a bunch again for your quick response. I'll consider this solved. smile.gif
