BF4 is a lot more similar to BF2 than it is to any Call of Duty title. I don't think the gameplay really changed much at all between BF2 and BF3/BF4 in the standard conquest mode. Outside of the maps created specifically for close quarters combat, play style and tactics haven't really changed.

Call of Duty is a different animal all together, not better or worse just different. COD is more like an arena shooter with some objective based game modes (unless your playing FFA or TDM). The idea that BF4 is more like Call of Duty than it is BF2 is laughable at best.

Not IMO it's not. It's not a feature set that simply sets these games so vastly apart it's pace. BF2 is not even remotely similar to BF4 in regards to pace and gunplay. The game plays much much slower and requires skill to actually get a kill once dolphin diving was taken out. BF3/4 you can literally do a mag dump at 100m standing and smoke someone. Just like COD. You see the similarity in the features of the BF games, i get that. In that regard your right. But in regards to gameplay they've increasingly become more and more like COD, dumbed down, low recoil, fast paced shooters there are just big maps and ways to get around those maps.

Obviously we disagree i'll leave that as my response i get where your coming, just don't see it that way. Been playing BF since 1942, to me its become an expanded call of duty cake with some BF icing on top. Franchise is over for me less something drastically changes. Which i highly doubt.

You must be a hell of a lot better at it than me because I cannot just start spraying and get a kill in BF3 or BF4 like I can in call of duty, I don't even ADS in COD. As for pacing, well you pace yourself in battlefield, I have always been a run and gun type player whether I am playing battlefield, cod or some arena shooter.

I agree with most of his points including mag dumping at 100m for easy kills.

Almost every gun in bf4 can be completely recoil controlled in full auto at range with novice skill by simply moving the mouse downward. The only thing that makes it even a little dificult is the artificial bullet spread induced by sustained fire. If the guns actually shot where barrel was pointed during sustained fire, the guns would be like laser beams.

I think if you spent some time playing other fps games like squad that have normal levels of recoil then played bf4, you would see it for how arcadey and easy it is. Even older bf games were not nearly as easy gun play.

I am not saying it is difficult as Squad or Arrma, but it is nowhere close to cod. You can be standing right in front of someone in battlefield and if you unload your lmg without ads you may not do anything but tear up the wall around the person you were shooting at, in cod you can get a kill without ads using a sniper rifle while jumping, they aren't similar. Battlefield has never been like Arrma or Squad and with any luck it never will be. There is a market for "sim" type FPS games but it isn't a huge one and Arrma and Squad are all that's needed to fill it.

Nowadays, everyone's throwing around "skill" to try to constitute an argument. It's become a buzzword. You can't even define what you mean by "skill", i bet. It's a useless concept.
And "mag dump" at 100m? Maybe 600 RPM guns.

For me the maps in BF4 were meh.... quite boring really and not really good. BF3 was where it was at, especially for infantry play style it really made for a good game. I'll hop into BF3 every once and awhile but I probably haven't played BF4 in 6 months... Don't really miss it either. Kinda sad because the game could have been great! Maybe its because I'm getting older too, who knows.

BF4 is still a mess day 2 day. Ever round 2 round . One round excellent hit detection and getting kills. Next round I run up to player from behind and mag dump with not one hit marker, he turns around and ohk. Or I will get kills and it won't show up as kill but a assist.?!? Good luck with bf5

well bf4 just band aided all the problems, didn't really fix anything per se, as they would have to re write a lot of the game from the ground up.

What annoys me, is the ground vehicle physics have been broken since bf3. How often do you drive a tank, just to have the thing pull an instant 360 as if it weight 3 pounds and ur on ice. And yeah i won't start with hit detection.

That stuff being said, I will buy BF5, I just won't pay early premium money for it, unless the release is flawless
