BF4 was "hated" because it was one of the worst launches in history. Not only that but 6 months later they were still fixing stuff.
I remember on the giantbomb cast the crew going over patch notes and one of them was "fixes x gun so the bullets don't do double damage anymore". That is months after release.

To their credit, though, they are still releasing updates and free maps for the game as recently as a month or two ago. The game came out almost 3 years ago. How many companies abandon their games after a month, or even right after release? Look at how WB left Batman AK and Mortal Kombat X. I've more than gotten my money out of BF4.

lets get a few things sorted out here, they said that bf5 "WILL" be a modern day shooter like bf4, so all this hoping for futuristic, bad company, WWII, and vietnam is already out of the question. Sorry fellas redface.gif

Oh admit and applaud they are going out of their way to actually fix stuff.
I was just pointing out that the hate was not really undeserved at the time.
Also, scew WB.

Part of the hatred comes from the fact that people love to hate things (other than bandwagons, people love those) as well. People read someone elses rant and just latch on to it and run, kind of like the post earlier in this thread about them releasing a battlefield game yearly and that is the reason why the quality has gone down. Someone latched on to the idea that EA are pushing the games out faster now when in reality they have released a battlefield game every 1-2 years since it's inception.

Can't really blame them, the few hardcore ones that want a WW2 era game are few and far between, to compete with COD they need future tech in the game.. It's unfortunate because COD is garbage next to Battlefield (imo of course). But please no damn wall running..

Actually the more a think about another "futuristic" shooter the more i might not pick it up. I want something from the past, or something from the very distant future, not some generic setting from 10-20 years from now..

All I really want is a new battlefield, I don't care about the setting or the time period. I would like new graphics and new maps, keep the shooting mechanics similar (could care less if it's bullets or lasers) and I would prefer if they kept the movement limited to what is possible for a human to accomplish without mechanical assistance.

To me all of the location and time period stuff doesn't matter in a multiplayer FPS. If it were a single player game with a story attached I would feel differently.

So we can expect the same quality at launch like BF4 and content as Battlefront? just wait folks the campaign will be fun but they'll have 4 maps and the option to get 6 maps with the season pass and expansions for weapons with the Premium pass as well.

I definitely will not be pre-ordering this.
