Mixing R9 380 with GT 730 for folding

Thread Starter
I wanted to pick up a cheap GPU that supports CUDA, and saw the GT 730 available. I currently have the R9 380, and wanted to fold on that as well as a CUDA GPU. So, is it feasible to do such a thing?

Looking to help out fellow folders in the upcoming FFW. biggrin.gif

In Windows you can certainly load both AMD and NVIDIA drivers together and use both for folding. I do it with a GTX-760 and HD7850 now. I could never get a mixed pair to work in Linux.

But I would have to guess a GT-730 is not going to produce much in the way of points, pretty low end card and unless I am mistaken it is not Maxwell.

edit - 750ti are available $100 shipped and good for 70K PPD in Windows, 750 is Maxwell and should do pretty well too. Not sure what cheap is.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'll look into acquiring a 750 Ti. Hopefully I have enough juice in my power supply to run both the R9 380 and the 750 Ti... tongue.gif

Nice thing about a 750ti is no power connectors, gets what it needs from the PCIE bus, about 60w. Fill out your rig info and we can see what you are running.

You should be fine adding a 750ti with 620w.
