MSI 990-FXA GD80 dead?

Hello. I am having an issue with my motherboard MSI 990 FXA-GD80.
Last night I put the computer on lock mode , and went to take a shower (20 min approx) , the PC was idle in the meantime. When I came back my case's power button was blinking , and when I pressed it nothing happened , it kept blinking. So I power off the PSU , start it back again , and it blinks again. I did this a couple of times and now the only thing i'm getting is 0,5 sec power on then it shuts itself down when pressing the power button , and when I press it again (after psu reset) it don't do anything unless I restart the psu again (off/on button on PSU) , then it gives the 0,5 sec start and does nothing afterwards.
I opened the case up , and I can see the power button on the mobo lighting green but it has no effect while clicking it.
So okay , I thought a problem was in my PSU. I unplugged all the cables from GPU , SSD , HDD and only left the ones leading to motherboard ( the 24 pin ) and the one to CPU ( 8 pin ) - same issue. Then I disconnected the CPU power ( 8 pin ) and the fans and mobo started to work. So I thought the PSU was bad as I thought it couldn't deliver enough power to CPU and I went to buy a new one and guess what - exact same issue >_< .
My PC specs are listed in my signature but here they are anyway :
FX 8320 (OC to 4,3GHz , Around 1,3 to 1,4V not sure anymore)
R9 280x
8GB DDR3
Corsair TX 650W (bought a new TX 650Wv2 - for nothing ofcourse >_>)
MSI 990-FXA GD80 (they were proud as on the mobo it says MILITARY GRADE and 10 year+ capacitor lifetime bla bla bla , my ass military)

I did clear the CMOS as I thought the overclock could be the issue , no effect.
What can I do here? I never had a component die on me , and i've been using this mobo for what 4-5 years? Could it be my CPU died? Not sure if the mobo would start if the cpu is dead or not.. Need advices , thanks.

It very well could be the motherboard. Do you have another CPU you can test?

Nah not really , I'd hate to buy a new CPU just to realize it's mobo's fault again.
Wouldn't the mobo start up anyway if the cpu was dead?

Does the led screen do anything? It should show an error code.

FF means there is a cpu problem. So it showing up when the cpu is unplugged is a good sign as far as the cpu is concerned. How about the row of blue lights at the top of the motherboard?

Only 2 lights? I always had all of them lit, but I believe that is adjustable in the bios. There is a bios reset button on the I/O panel just below the mouse and keyboard ports. Press that and hold it for 10 seconds. That should reset the bios to stock defaults.

I did clear the CMOS with removing the battery for a minute or two , and I believe it's only two because the CPU power plug is disconnected. And it won't start at all with it plugged.

Could you get another cpu to test with from somewhere? Both the cpu and motherboard are pretty tuff. Could a power surge have happened while you were in the shower?
