Agreed, the Strix needs a R&D revamp for Air GPU's on AMD and nVidia camps. Thanks for the helpful link bro cowboy.gif

Bad card, ugly design, terrible support, poor resale value since Asus only honors original buyer.

That is true for every manufacturer except XFX. No manufacturer has transferable warranties except XFX - and even XFX requires the original buyer fill out a form to transfer the warranty.

I've got to say, there's just one thing that confuses me.

Me: "Hey, my card has a problem, will you take a look since it's within the warranty period?"
SomeCardCompany: "Sure, but we'll need proof of purchase."
Me: "No problem, I'll include a copy of the receipt."
SomeCardCompany: "Great."

How often do they check that the mailing address doesn't have the same name as the receipt/registrant?

Would they ask for some kind of proof (and what could that possibly be) when you handle that query with:

"I'm currently living with Not Me, who is listed on the address above the C/O Me MeLastname line."

or

"He/She is my retired uncle/aunt/stupid brother/sister, doesn't understand computers."

Since when? Asus, Gigabyte and EVGA are all based on serial number for warranty purposes.

Since the original purchaser needs to register the product's serial number within 30 days of purchase with his/her name, purchase info, and billing/shipping address.
