Clean windows install. Keep the minimum and treat it as infected.
Next time be careful what you do on the web.

Hmm, how come you haven't made the jump to 10 if you don't mind me asking?

If there is a problem that you can't seem to fix, just backup the data you want to keep to something like a usb flsh drive, then format and reinstall. nuke everything fixes all.

yeah i honestly dont know what happened and how i get these viruses. On my main PC (which is this one) I dont do any "suspicious" activity for the pure reason to avoid viruses. hell, even in my whole life time, this is the first time something this big happened to my own personal "PC" (redundant of personal here)

I guess i will just keep my documents and delete everything else then during with clean windows install?

but do you know how i can save my bookmarks in firefox? (or can i just do the steps that desolutional mentioned couple posts back?)

and reason why im so iffy about a clean windows install is that, becuase i have never done one before, i am afraid that even if i do do a clean install, im going to end up re installing the "back up" copy that i make and with it, the infection/virius/bacteria/fungi, etc etc whatever its called lolol

i like windows 7. I dont like how windows 10 looks. and atm, dont really know much about it beecause i planned on sticking with w7. i will go to windows 10 if i have no choice in w7 (of course this is most likely due to my ignorance with w10)

EDIT: for now i think the virus's got cleaned out. i will try monitoring it for another week or so and if the issue persists, i will go ahead with the clean install

Windows 10 flows better and you'll probably learn to love the look - accessing your programs is easier, press the Start button and start typing the name. I use Kaspersky for my AV and it hasn't let me down yet, even seems to stop stuff getting to my VM through the network. If you want a free AV, try out Avast! or Avira, both just as good as each other.

Yes, you should be able to find a folder containing firefox's bookmark. A quick google search will tell you the path.
I would check the other computers you have access to. It's not impossible you got it from an infected drive too.
The only virus I got were from pirated content. I also got a couple of trojan after downloading a program from an unofficial (but very legit) source. I usually always make sure to uncheck the bloatware they try to install with the program but once in a while one slip through my vigilance. Could be that too but yours sounds much more aggressive than what I have ever encountered.
