Installing directx 9 on Windows 10?

Hello,

I have all my core software installed - Windows is running flawlessly and I've created a system restore point.

Nearly half of my favorite games require DX9c - FEAR, BIOSHOCK, Wolfenstein, etc.

Is there a way to copy the files without threatening any files for Windows 10 DX12? Should I just install DX9c or is there a better option. Compatibility mode is not an option as it is looking for a ton of DX9 dlls.

Use this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429

Thanks - so there is no downside to installing DX9c on Windows 10 with DX12?

Those are totally separate things. Windows 10 Already has DX9/10/11 installed, just not the full dynamic link libraries you need for older games (.dll files).

Thanks!

For some older games you might need to also download .NET framework and C++ redistributable installers, just an FYI.

Good to know thanks. I just installed DX9 all games working properly but one - I'll start a new thread for that.
