980Ti SLI temps concern

Hey guys,

I just finished putting together a new system with two 980Ti's in SLI in a corsair d450 case with stock fans.

The two cards are the MSI Gaming G6 ones.

Now, I am aware that the top card in SLI always runs hotter but I just want to make sure there is nothing I can do about it besides resorting to a water loop.

I am getting 83c on the top card after playing for a short while on crysis 3 at 4k and the second card sits at 74ish.

Is there a way to setup a custom profile just for the top fan? Or any other suggestion? Should I just take it somewhere and try to liquid cool?

Thank you,

Marios

I highly recommend water cooling those 980tis. For now though, you can download MSI afterburner and make a custom GPU fan profile. Make the profile so that anything above 70% GPU usage makes the fans work at 80%. On air i normally make it 1% fan for every 1 degree celcius. So 100% gpu usage, 100% fan speed.

I tried doing that but it applies the profile to both GPU's which results in the same issue logically, can I apply the profile only on the top gpu?

Do those work with the MSI Gaming G6? I thought they were only for the reference GPU?
