i5 2500k and gtx 980Ti on 3440 x 1440 screen

Thread Starter
Will i5 2500k oc'ed to 4,6GHz be a bottleneck to this setup? My MOBO is asrock p67 pro3 b3.
nah the resolution is so high you'll probably hit gpu bottleneck first.
Not really but in some games yes. Something like GTA V might.

60 FPS with max details in some of the newest games is impossible in 3440x1440 with a single GTX 980 Ti.
But no the CPU wont bottleneck the GPU.

how much would it cost to swap that for 3770K ? if not much then get the 980Ti and start thinking about 2500K -> 3770K upgrade.

That would be too small an upgrade to be worth it.

bullcrap,I did that myself and the performance improvement was big in CPU limited scenarios, even though I had my 2500K at 4.9GHz.

A 3770K is exactly the same as a 3570k, except with hyperthreading. The jump from 2500K to 3570K is a less than 8% gain in performance. I don't think it would be worth it.

Games. Here is a conclusion put out by OCaholic, the conclusion is a good read but the real proof is in the pudding, which can be found in the various benchmarks they show earlier in the review.
