It's not really a great idea to watch the pros when comparing sensors. Most of the pros are sponsored and choose a comfy shape before looking at the sensor.
Laser mice can be great, but if you are using a soft cloth pad (which most do), then why take the risk of greater inconsistency vs. an optical mouse.

This was the least funny out of all the sensor evangelist threads.

i totally agree with you on why take the risk, and yes if u use a cloth pad then use an optical mouse, unfortunately for me g502 (best optical sensor on the market) i hate its shape, i cant fine an optical mouse with comfortable grip for my hand other than the corsair m65 and roccat kone xtd.

again im not trying to convince people to throw away their optical mice and use laser ones, im just trying to prove that laser mice can be as good given that u chose the right one paired with the right mouse pad, my point is laser mice are not all bad and garbage like most of the internet makes u think, im saying if you like a laser mice then try it and if u like it go for it, dont be afraid and dont follow the false propaganda, it doesnt have to have a bad accuracy and/or acceleration like most people think and make u think, a laser mice can be accurate, good and without acceleration smile.gif

The 9500 is mighty fine on hard pads. But that is the point. It doesn't work well on cloth pads.
Why choose a one trick pony vcsel sensor if I can have an led alternative that works way better on EVERY "gaming" surface?
The next thing is the surface thing. Sure vcsel sensors work on more surfaces. I personally haven't seen anyone that uses his/her 40-50$ vcsel mouse on a shiny, glossy surface. You will want to use even the cheapest mouse pad, either for consistency, comfort or any other personal reason and this corresponds to my previous statement.

Couch is best gaming surface.
