Damaged cable / connector

sure where to post this exactly but I wanted to see if anyone knew possibly if my issue is repairable or if I'd have to purchase a new heatsink.

When removing the stock heatsink on my 980ti to attach a waterblock the damn connecter would not come off and the cables ripped off when I was trying to tweak it out. Replacement would cost ~ 59.99. Thought maybe one of you cable gurus could walk me through how to try and repair this myself before I drop the cash on a replacement.

I doubt you can re-crimp them, but you may be able to solder them on. If you have a soldering station that is.

I don't have a soldering gun or anything atm but I'd be up for trying to fix it. So just buy a soldering gun and any specific type of solder and just connect the two points?

If you have never soldered, watch some youtube videos before you decide to go that route.

I soldered a few things back in high school. But looking at prices to get a quality soldering station and whatnot I think I'll probably just buy a new cooler; thanks anyway :/
