January - 1080p 98 fps, 1440p 62 fps, 4K 32 fps with driver 361.43

January 1.3 patch - 1080p 77fps, 1440p 53 fps, 4K 27 fps with driver 361.60

So from early January, Gamegpu is saying Nvidia lost 27%, 17% and 19% respectively because of the patch.

That's a lot of fps. Where are the users complaining of the performance drop?

The November and early January videos are very similar, both taken before the blast when you enter the vault.

The third video is also right next to the vault but after you exit. This is the video with the supposed fps loss. Since this video occurs after the blast, there is little remaining foliage in the video compared to the first two.

Here's a test with the finished 1.3 patch.

Once again, it shows that gamegpu's results are incorrect.

It also shows that the speculation in the video that Beth changed the renderer was completely off base as well.

The FO3 patch introduced more tweaks and additions in relation to GameWorks. Although some report better performance on AMD cards, others have equally suggested otherwise. The patch is known to be an issue to AMD themselves.

If only Nvidia gave the GTX 700 users some Tess control. I doubt they ever will, for obvious reasons.

Last but not least, Project Cars has a large quantity of physics calculations, mostly performanced on an Nvidia card. When an Nvidia card is not present, the physics are forced to a single CPU core as suggested and shown by various AMD GPU users. This causes a single threaded bottleneck, forcing the GPU to do less work as it plays catch up.

Maxwell was built to be up to 3 times faster with tess than Kepler.

That doesn't make over usage of tess acceptable of course.

But of those games you mentioned....

Fallout 4 can be played with god rays, physx and HBAO+ off.
Witcher 3 can be played with Hairworks and HBAO+ off.
Dying Light can be played with DOF and HBAO+ off.
I don't know about Just Cause 3.

They can dump the rest of gameworks as I only find HBAO+ useful personally.

I figure Nvidia will be gone within 10 years anyway. They seem to have little success outside of graphics cards and they will need to diversify for the future.
