Cash Shop

We know many of you have waited for this moment. It took us quite some time to find the right way and we hope that you will like the selection of items to be offered in our Cash Shop.

  • You will be able to reserve 1 Family name for a region of your choice.
  • You will be able to reserve 1 Character name for the same region as the Family name.
  • Family and Character names will be unique in each region.
  • There will be two regions. North America and Europe.

We will have two different shops (see below). The Cash Shop and the Mileage Shop.

  • Cash Shop offers items that are all purchasable with Pearls.
  • Mileage Shop items can be purchased with miles.
  • You will receive 100 miles per day for logging onto any of your characters.
    • You will not earn mileage by purchasing pearls.

Quote:
Note:

  • Cash Shop items will not be possible to sell on the marketplace at launch phase
  • If we decide to enable selling Cash Shop Items at a later stage, there will be control mechanisms that will prevent players from heavily profiting and gaining an advantage by repetitively selling Cash Items on the marketplace
  • 100 Mileage will be distributed via daily login
  • Miles are family bound; items are character bound

About: Black Desert has been under development for several years and Pearl Abyss has state that a completely new game engine was created for the game. This was done in order to meet the technical requirements of a large-scale open world that would hold expansive battles such as castle sieges. By having experienced in-house developers, they boldly made their own engine that allowed them to debug and customize their world more easily.

Black Desert is a huge sandbox oriented MMORPG that provides a variety of unique experiences, including strategy-oriented action such as castle sieges and complex battle, and also sophisticated simulation content such as trading, NPC-hiring, and real-estate management.[2]

  • Combat - Experience intuitive skill based combat.
  • Fantasy Life - Enjoy the ultimate, fantasy role-play and discover endless possibilities.
  • Immense World - Explore a captivating world with groundbreaking visuals.
Location: The world of Black Desert was divided into two countries - Calpheon and Valencia. These two factions are head to head in competition for The Black Stone, an essential energy resource. Calpheon is a prosperous, commercial-oriented land, while Valencia holds spiritual values above all else.[2]

Haven't done a good MMO in several years outside a very short and disappointing trip into ESO.

Count me in for at least the initial purchase.

Depending on if you know someone buying the game, you could always ask for a guest pass.

Guest passes, how do they work?

The guest passes will be provided closer towards the launch date. You will be able to provide the guest pass to anyone of your liking, who will then be able to join you in Black Desert Online for 7 days. Each pass can only be used once. Your friend will not be able to partake in the headstart or access the CBTs. The passes have no expiry.

I don't, but I am willing to gamble $30 bucks on it, maybe even the $40 pre-order package. Friday (a.k.a. payday) is coming up, and there are some OT hours on this one, depending on how hard uncle sam decided to bend me over and shaft me will determine the tier I jump in at.

If anyone from CB1 can chime in I would appreciate it...

You could always pre-order -> reserve names -> play on a seperate account during the beta -> keep original order or refund.

I think it might work since you're not accessing the game with your original account? Just make sure to preorded as late as possible before the reservation phase.
Quote:
I changed my mind. Can I get a refund on my pre-order package?

You can request a refund from customer support within 14 days of your purchase and only as long as you haven't accessed the game (this includes access during CBT stages). Refunds will only be provided once. Further details can be found in our Terms of Use.

This seems doable, but I am done with pre-orders. And actual perks which affect in-game performance infuriate me - like the 24-hour headstart.

I will most likely ask one of you kind people for a trial code.

I ended up picking up the new Tomb Raider instead of pre-ordering. I might sit out the first week or so to let the dust settle around release as well.

I caved and pre-ordered the Explorer's package.. which gives me two trail codes.. I don't have any friends that I honestly think will play this so I would be happy to hook you up with one!

I didn't screen shot it but I reserves; Ridiculously Sloppy
Ridiculously = Character Name
Sloppy = Family

Even though the family name appears above character name which kinda screws it up.. I normally game with Sloppy anyways..

I pre-ordered the Explorer's Package so I will get a 48 hour head start, which puts me at a Tuesday Launch. As a casual gamer I have no plans to take off of work as I have a Honeymoon this year to also go on and need the days.. So I ask the community what should I do in preparation?

I have already reserved my names. I guess I should have figured out my Class by then so I can jump right in there.
I haven't messed with the character creation, but is there a way to save a load out so I can instantly upload it launch day and I don't have to waste time doing it??

I have yet to play beta or the Korean version, I have watched a few videos, but nothing in depth. I won't be rushing to get to max level as so many people playing straight and without other obligations will beat me. However, what are some thing to get an early start on that will help me over time? I would think getting workers and nodes early would be helpful as you can log in only for a few minutes to assign work.
What are some other tips and tricks us casual gamers should know about to make the game easier and possibly more enjoyable if we don't have all the time in the world to play??

Well for a casual gamer, there is an afk mode. You can do tasks like fishing while afk, but it will give you reduced exp. This allows you to rack up the proffesion levels you'll need later on.

The game does not kick afk players as it's a way to earn Energy. Afk -> earn Energy -> create Energy pots -> repeat.

Also, the game has a minimized mode where it uses for little PC resources. I don't know if that's only in the other regions though.

Sounds good to me! I need to plug my laptop into a Kill-a-watt meter to see how much electricity it eats and what it will cost me $$ haha...
I guess my only other concern would be the wear and tear on my laptop if I run it 24/7... It's a new Sager and I would hate to see it burn out in its prime.. Guess I need to post on the Sager forum to see what people think..

It will not burn out in its prime, don't worry.
On the note of power savings - well, you could impose a framerate limit and reduce details anyway, so that the CPU and GPU would be less stressed.

I think you quoted me by mistake, m8. It's other guy who's giving his codes out. Sorry.

While I was posting it I had the feeling that something was off, but wasn't sure why.
