I don't know why people even bother with multi-GPU under DirectX and OpenGL all these years. Neither of these API's even officially support multi-GPU. That's why software devs have to always patch in support for it and make "profiles" because it requires a mountainload of dirty, ugly hacks to get it up and working somewhat decently. And then you have to deal with AFR which is just horrible. I'd always rather buy a single faster GPU than two lesser GPU's. I know some people have e-boners for mega high-res and all that but it's not worth it for me. At least Mantle and all its derivatives (DX12, Vulkan) will support this stuff natively, especially for VR, so it won't be a problem anymore...eventually.
