What G. Skill ram should I get?

My mobo is an MSI Gaming 5 board. And in case the clearance matters, I've got a cryorig h7, so probably not any of the trident models but I don't really know if that'll matter.
So I want 16 gigs (2x8).
I'm thinking the G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory.
Thoughts?

p.s. I asked basically this question somewhere else and this was the response I got
Get the one with the lowest CL number running on DDR3-1600 speed , getting any ram higher than 1600 with haswell is useless so you need to get the lowest CL ram for fast speed .
How true is this, if it is why?

The h7 cooler should not be an issue with clearance, since it stays back from covering the memory slots. Its the giant coolers that overlap them that cause issues.

I would go with either the Trident or Ripjaws 2400 set.

As for the low CL 1600 vs 2400, the 2400 set is faster and they are wrong. There is always an increase in performance, no matter how large or small it may be. You definitely won't be slower than the 1600 set.

These benches were done on a Haswell CPU, but any CPU would experience benefits.

Thanks. The reason I was worried about the h7 was because I've seen people say they've had problems with their 212s (mine was fine). And from the pictures I've seen they look similar

edit: Also, I'm planning a red/black build so and the only 2400 ripjaws X I see is blue/black, but the trident is red/black so that looks like a better choice

If there is fitment issue with your heatsink, then the red part on the Trident heatsink can be removed by design.

I have the 8GB 2400 Trident set and it looks good on my ROG board. Older pic of my "command center" rig with crossfire 7970's.
