My third build, third time here looking for advice!

Hello!

This is my third time coming here before buying a new PC rig and every single time I got great advice, so here I am again.
I'm looking to spend the least amount for a gaming rig that will run any existing videogame at 60 fps with high/ultra settings. I'm talking shadow of mordor on high settings with 60 stable fps.

So this is what I got so far

-Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
-Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
-Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
-Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
-MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
-Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

To decide: PSU, Case (looking for a classic look with side window, no extra stuff), Display.

So my gaming setup is going to be 2 Display, I do play fps games but I'd rather buy a IPS display at 60hz than spend over 500 pounds for an 144hz IPS display. I'm looking for 24" or more and while I plan to game on just one of them a model close to frameless would be nice.

So in essence:

1) Any advice on what I picked? Do you think a Gtx 970 will be sufficent to run at 60fps 2016 games? Perhaps a future 970 SLI will be necessary? Is it worth to wait for a GTX 980 TI (I understand it's a less powerful gtx titan as opposed to the 980 that offers little boost from the 970)?

2) Advice on PSU (Looking for minimal consumption and little noise), Case (classy and with a side window), Display (buying 2, IPS at least 24").

3) Air cooling vs Water cooling, I want to stick with air cooling, if you think it would be worth the cost/risk to install a water cooling system for this build please make your case.

Extra: I'm planning to have linux installed and eventually add a secondary internal sshd, perhaps a second gtx 870
Thanks!

The GTX 980 Ti is already out and have been for a long time, so i am not sure what you are talking about?
Are you talking about the new Pascal cards?

As for the PSU you dont need more then a 650-750 watt even for SLI.
As for the case check out what Phanteks offers.

Last i would get a better air cooler as the 212 Evo is not great nor super quiet.
Something like a Noctua NH-U12S NH-U14S or the NH-D15 would be much better and more quiet.

I meant waiting to have the money for a gtx 980 ti as opposed to the gtx 970 considering possible 2016 titles. I have not even considered the Pascal cards because the will be marketed as the Titan series meaning they will be around 1k at first, way outside my budget. On the PSU I'm looking for something quiet and was hopeful for someone who had positive experience with a particular brand or model. I will check out the aNoctua NH-U12S right away, thanks!

For a PSU go with either an EVGA SuperNova G2 or a Corsair RMx (not the old RM)
And last i heard Nvidia is looking to push out the Pascal cards in april so some of the lower cards might shown up soon after.

current performance at 1080

And 1080p60hz maybe not at ultra maybe high

Why exactly a 970 you can find the 390x for 350usd and it is 7%-10% faster

Honestly I'm no Nvidia fanboy but I've been using Gt/Gtx Gpu's for over 10 years now, I never used anything else plus I might actually considering using G-sync (freesync is inferior I hear) for which I would need a nvidia graphic card I think. I'm only considering gtx 970/980/980 TI or possibly a 970 SLI as my options.

If the monitor you have now is 1080P you should think about moving to 1440P instead.

So far I've been gaming on 1080p and I've had a great time, I never even considered 1440p due to the increased load on the GPU. I'm already worried a GTX 970 won't be enough for 2016 titles without a second in SLI, do you think a GTX 970 will be able to support 2016 games on high/ultra settings keep stable 60 fps while having a second display active as well (not gaming of course) at 1440p? I might consider moving to 1440p if a good 144hz/IPS cheap display comes along but I'm not sure it's worth the increased hardware requirements. What do you think? Do you use 1440p?

Check out my review
Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming review with benchmarks

And yes i use 1440P myself and have been for a while (think since late 2012?)
I am moving away from my old Asus PB278Q over to the new Asus PG279Q later this year.
