Afternoon all,

Just got my replacement CPU today . WIll be testing it later and overclocking it but thought i'd ask around if anyone has a CPU from this batch or has any info on if it's a good one.

Batch number #J521C158
MM# 937406
SR20R - Malay

Hopefully I'll be able to hit 4.6Ghz like before !

I have no idea about the batches, but from my limited experience I'm thinking 4.6Ghz should be super easy on a 5930k. I hit 4.7Ghz on 3 cores and 4.6Ghz on 3 at 1.28 volts using just using AI suite with AVX instructions on with my 5820k. I'm still researching the different voltages and multipliers before I dig in to the Bios. I am coming from old school X58 with a locked i7 920 and over clocking that with bclk was quite a bit different. I am still super new to X99, but I was thinking that was pretty average. I'm not sure what my full batch number is, but i know they last 3 digits are 521. Good luck with the chip though.

From what I've read, malay aren't the best. Also, the little the last numbers, the better. Batch number has little to do, from what I've seen out of the small lists available. Some cpu from the same batch perform really differently. Back in the day it had its important, not so much now.

You can get 4.4Ghz easy some wont even hit 4.4/4.5Ghz, 4.6Ghz is the end goal .
