Not sure what your living situation has to do with audio noise. Pretty awkward.

personally I feel SPCR is a reputable source of information and would trust their numbers.

however I will say it's difficult to see 980Ti putting out 23db @ gaming loads(considering it's a 250w TDP chip and only a 2 slot card). I will admit i have no experience with that card so it's entirely possible that ASUS was able to squeeze that much performance out of that cooler, but like i said, it's difficult to see considering the space constraints of a 2 slot card.

The Strix is actually a very quiet card. Looking at the components I had little doubt it was a quiet system.

GPU hsf had definitely got better, the move from 72/70mm fan to 90/92mm fan, heatsink tend to be thicker and 100mm in height at least.

Keep in mind they use 85c or 80c as target temperature, thet is around 60c delta compare to ambient(when some people believe 60ish is too hot already). Auto fan curve I read from review usually aim for 70ish for the 980ti iirc.

I think it's fair to say it's quiet, but 23dBA when gaming .. breathing while playing checkers make more noise than that. biggrin.gif

i'm not saying i don't believe SPCR, just saying it's hard to believe since it's a 2 slot card. what actually caught my eye in the review is actually how similar the overall design of the Corsair Carbide 600Q looked like the Silverstone FT04 / RV04 biggrin.gif looks like somebody at Corsair is a Silverstone fan biggrin.gif

SPCR is as good as any and better than most. I don't know about blanket statements of how good thier reviews and testing is though. Most review sites are in the web. Each tester is in his or her own place, not like all testing is done in one place province, country, or even on one continent.

To beat a dead horse, making blanket statements about SPCR as if they are every other review site is not a thoughtful way to editorialize...

It means you can't be loud because you have no freedom where you live.

LOL....when it was unveiled, all I could think was "why would anyone want a plastic Silverstone copy?".
