HELP with new grapics card

Hey guys

About a month back I did a couple upgrades on my gaming rig, one of which was a graphics card. At first I purchased an r9 380 and after about 2 weeks it started messing up, Here is a video I took, starts around 10 seconds, I have the video on fast forward for playback as it doesn't happen every second. The problem is the screen going all black then coming back on, it will do this equally while gaming or just on the internet browsing, no specific pattern. I put my old card back in and the problem went away. I RMA'd the card through the store I bought it and upgraded to a Sapphire r9 390 instead, we are now a full month later and the same problem starting happening, I have since reinstalled windows, and installed the newest drivers and I am honestly at a loss and super frustrated :/

If anyone has some input on what I could do it would be great, thanks!

EDIT after playing around I've realized it happens more often with my second screen enabled

This happens on only one of my monitors. a 1080 LG that has a sleep function. When i used it on my 290 and my 7950. It does not do it to my HD 7770, though, so i use it on that. anyways, check if the Link State of your PCIe is set to off. It might help . . .

There are other settings there that has to do with Sleep. You can play with those, too, and it might help. gl.

Edit: I never use this but i recommend it over the use of DDU . . .

I normally just install the new driver over the old.

I fiddled around with a lot of settings and never figured it out, tested different dvi cables etc. BUT when I used display port instead I have zero problems, I don't think it is a hardware problem because both new cards had this problem but my old cards do not. It is possible it is just some type of drive/software/hardware combination on my computers part but it has all been resolved for now

that is crazy crazymonkey. the one monitor of mine that i mentioned does not have dp. just dvi and vga. but like i said, it works on my hd7770 using dvi.

but the thing is, my other monitors - a 1080 with hdmi and a 4K with hdmi and dp do not give this issue. so, it is hard to tell. i used them both with a 7950 and 290s.

btw, i always put my amd with a 7950 to sleep mode and my intel rig to hibernate.

Yeah it's weird, definitely a bug or something, and tbh I don't really turn my computer off, ever, I restart it maybe weekly
